Chapel Hill Town Council took the courageous and principled action of voting for a 10 million dollar bond earmarked for providing more affordable housing to our community. Council members struggled with the testimony of people who wanted even more town resources brought to bear on this need, as they listened to the Budget Director’s list of capital needs which will over time require an increase in the town tax rate. These projects include construction of police and fire stations, road and sidewalk repairs and creation of additional recreation and cultural arts programming space to meet the needs of our growing town.

We are proud of our Town Council!
