University Place Redevelopment. On June 28th, the Town Council will consider again the special use permit request from RAM for an extensive redevelopment of University Place. What’s noteworthy about the changes is reduced retail and a large number of apartments proposed.

Most of the site sits near the confluence of Booker and Bolin Creeks  and is expected to receive increased incidences of flooding as the upper watershed continues to be built out.  The permit itself will require an exception from the Resource Conservation District, a protected overlay zone, designed to protect waterways and sensitive lowland areas. The meeting begins at 7:00 pm.

Staff materials for both projects are found here.
