Key dates

  • May 10, 2022 – Deadline to request an absentee ballot
    • All residents of North Carolina are eligible for absentee voting.
    • You can track your absentee ballot with BallotTrax.
  • May 14, 2022 – In-person early voting ends at 3pm
  • May 17, 2022 – Election Day and deadline for return of absentee ballots
    • Absentee ballots must be received (not postmarked) by 5pm
    • If a second primary is necessary, it will be held on one of two days in July.
    • Visit www.ncsbe.gov/voting/upcoming-election after the primary for more information.
